Day 32

Day 32

Ardmore OK to Duncan OK

Another short mileage day caused by availability of a place to sleep. The next couple days will help make up for some lost time as the hotels are just over 100 miles apart. I hope the recent easy days has not spoiled us too bad.  It is sure nice showing up early at the hotel.

The past few early arrivals has given us more time for the chores of laundry, mapping and blog work. In between our chores we have to shower and find supplies for the next day and eat dinner somewhere.

We stopped at the only store in the very small town of Loco Oklahoma to stock up on water.  There we met a few of the locals who were interested in our journey. One of the guys told us he knew everyone within 100 miles …all 20 of them.

A mixture of sun and clouds kept us comfortable in the 90 degree heat as we rode through the Oklahoma grasslands towards the Texas panhandle. There is not much going on in this part of the country.  Even the cows in the fields look bored.

We have not seen many other cyclist on this tour so far.  Today a rider named Dale caught up with the team and rode the last 15 miles with us. He is a guidance teacher at the local high school who was off on his daily 25 miler.

Sorry for the dull post but just ask the cows….not much going on out here.

71 Miles (feels like cheating)

Weather 90 degrees Sun & Clouds

2890 Feet of Climbing
